  1. "Yes, accessing aircraft reduces VAS. They are added to VAS memory, assuming you may need to access them later."

can this function be bypassed or removed?...or is it necessary for fsx to function?....thanks....

  2. ok....i need to understand something.....i accessed fsuipc...vas usage which shows on upper left corner of the fsx screen.....while flying, ...i tried installing different aircraft one after the other.......and each time, the very large number, which i assumed was the remaining memory, went down.....and went down considerably ......am i to assume this is normal?....and will it go down till it ooms? and how is this a drain on the memory just by changing aircraft?....thanks
  3. ok,,,,, if my unclicking van, plus the dt airport doesn't work...i'll try the 2048 ..... gotta keep my rex though...that's on dinosaur i must keep in my zoo............

Intel Core i7-7700K Kaby Lake Quad-Core 4.2 GHz

    MSI GeForce GTX 1060 DirectX 12 GTX 1060 GAMING X 6G 6GB

    CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 ..............thanks..........

  4. ha...i get the chimes, then it shuts down............how to access log file with fsuipc?....me dumb.....

i can't fly every plane one at a time to find out....it would take me weeks ;)....actually i just changed planes on the runway, and it crashed even with the hang glider on the runway............sometime it crashed flying a simple ww1 prop..............which is why i didn't thing it was the planes......please correct me if i'm mistaken.............so i unclicked dream team vancouver airport and vancouver + v3 in the cfg editor, and just used the orbx one, and well see what happens...

most of the planes i was able to save, after my reinstall, but i lost my wilga....couldn't find my serial number....may have to repurchase.....yuk................. big deal eh? :D thanks.........

  5. hmmmm...reinstalled everything, and same problem.....is there a way to monitor vas memory while flying?....on task manager i noticed, i'm using around 2,600 mb's while flying, but i don't know if that's related to vas??
  6. please....where should the scenery configurator editor be installed in fsx steam....?....mine seems to want to install in program files....is that correct?..mine didn't work when installed there.......thanks
  7. gads.....have so many aircraft....not much scenery like i described ....may be easier to start from scratch.....anyways.....i'll figure the best way to deal with it......thanks and seasons greetings....vc
  8. other times it crashes a short time into the sim and i don't have any of those havana cigar airliners....i'm into smaller stuff....i done something wrong somewhere...i even verified the integrity of fsx steam....
  9. thank you.....this has been going on for maybe six months, not since the initial install....had been adding planes here and there...i do have many, which is the charm of fsx and why it will never die ...the only scenery i have active is orbx pnw, vanouver + a few small orbx airports and dream team cyvr airport......and i don't check show all planes.....something's gobbling up memory.....task manager shows 30-35% mem......but i don't know if that's a true indication......
  10. thanks all....computer goes bling bling bling.....like a broken chord.....and there's pixel breakup...then shuts down......

priority 1-2....i'll check into that thanks......

also...does flying in windowed mode take less memory?.....

  11. found the answer...

The problem is that a lot of the F-16 liveries reference the "Aerosoft F-16A 9\Panel" folder and if you look in that folder, there is no panel.cfg, but there are Panel.cfg.SP2 and Panel.cfg.Xpack. So I would conclude an installation step is missing when Aerosoft installer does not recognise Steam Edition and so does not rename one of those files. I simply make a copy of the Panel.cfg.Xpack file and rename it to Panel.cfg. As the other liveries reference this panel, suddenly they are all available to FSX once more. If you edit that file you will see it is not exactly the same as the one in "Aerosoft F-16AM Display\Panel", there are also other files in this folder, so the correct solution is to just copy/rename the single file.

  12. tried a few forums and aerosoft..no answer yet.....aerosoft f-16 doesn't show up in fsx steam....using the original version 121.....thought i'd try here................shows up in fsx aircraft follder, but not in the sim.....thanks
  13. 1920x1080 yep....anyways i uninstalled the fsdt cyvr airport, so i can't do any screenshots, but i have the scenery config editor, and have unenabled those, i wont use, so we'll see what happens with ooms....

basically i just needed to confirm the installation path of fsdt gsx and cyvr in fsx steam, which is in pgm files x86....but even at dream team forums i couldn't get an answer....strange....again....gsx seems to default to pgm files x86 and shows as addon manager, and the cyvr seems to be installed in that folder, which may be correct, but i wanted confirmation......i think from there it detects fsx and installs cyvr there.....but i'm ignorant about it....it's amazing how difficult it is to get info sometimes :) thanks for your kindness.....i'm a pianist, so i'm not very smart about these things :).....vic
