Menu bar not available

I just reinstalled FSX. For some reason when I right click the screen the option to unhide the menu bar is not available (grayed out). Does anyone know how to fix this? Also the cursor becomes very low res and is black instead of white. Might be related?

OK, the ALT key fixes the menu problem. Anyone have thoughts on the black cursor?

Windows 10?

 

Do you have DirectX 9c installed? No, it doesn't replace your current DirectX, it installs the necessary 9c DLLs that FSX needs to run.

PS: If you're rolling Windows 10, you're gonna need to do some research on making sure FSX runs smoothly. There are some things that need to be done apparently. I would right click the FSX icon and run it as Admin. and as XP SP2. 3 not needed. 3 wasn't even out FSX came out. Though, it may not even matter what SP version you use.

if you have fsx gold make sure to also install your acceleration disk.

 

If you have only fsx deluxe download and install service pack 1 (fsx-sp1), and fsx-sp2.

 

(only needed for disk version of fsx. for fsxSteam its not needed.)
