GarryJSmith
Hi Good people, Something different for FS2004 is coming your way - Working Jump Ramps. Not sure if this has ever been done before, but the Ford Project Team is about to release a bit of scenery that includes a bucket of jump ramps for your flying fun. There are eleven different jumps within the scenery package - from slight to very steep........ http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/Downloads/Scenery/Timor/Mount-View-1.jpg http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/Downloads/Scenery/Timor/Mount-View-2.jpg http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/Downloads/Scenery/Timor/Ford-Timor-Jump-S.jpg I am having great fun testing this scenery with a wide range of aircraft as I work on the refinements. :pilot: In Final Tweaking mode now and should be available very soon........... GarryJSmith
Hi Good People, Could not resist a challenge mentioned in a forum thread - a Grass runway up/down a sloping hill. Got it worked out and have added it to the Ford-Timor Scenery pack. Sorry to those that have already downloaded and installed the Ford-Timor project it will be a simple matter of download again and then just unzip into your Ford-Timor scenery directory and carry on as normal. What have I done? (1) I have refined, yet again some of the jump ramps - particularly the Big Ski Jump - made it more smoother - very fiddly stuff working in three dimensions adding a 3D model in a very challenging area. (2) Added a runway up/down a hill and an airfield at the top for parking etc. See Pictures below: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/Downloads/Scenery/Projects/Timor/Ford-Timor-Grass1-S.jpg http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/Downloads/Scenery/Projects/Timor/Ford-Timor-Grass2-S.jpg That's all - no more tinkering Regards from your Ford-Project Team Garry Garry J. Rnglgdj
Guess you have to set building crash detector off to land on the air platform.
GarryJSmith
Hi Mate, I am probably one of the worst FS2004 pilots you have every encountered :pilot: I always use FS2004 in "Crash Detect OFF" mode :D Though you might be shocked - I use FS2004 as a "graphics environment" - where I can check aircraft liveries I paint up, position models and artwork for scenery I have created and spend about 90% plus of my "in flight" time slewing and building things and checking the artwork, and models, that I create and position. In almost 20 years of "simming" I don't think I have every flown a serious flight from point x to point y  My hobby is Computer Graphics - and fortunately, or unfortunately for some, I choose the Flight Sim environment as my artistic playground. In some of my scenery creations you get to move around inside mountain models or through or very near other model objects, or even in contact with some models (such as the jump ramps in the Ford Timor scenery) so if you have Crash Detect ON then it may not be a fun experience flying in some of the scenery I create. In a nutshell, I would recommend that when using Ford Tri-Motor Project Scenery it would be more suitable to have Crash Detect OFF so that you can enjoy the vast range of scenery that we produce for your flight simming environment.
