About This File
FS2004 FAP North American F-86F Sabre. In 1958 the Portuguese Air Force received 25 F-86 airplanes and, later, 40 more airplanes of this type. Placed initially in Air Base 2, Ota, they had been transferred in 1959 to Air Base 5, Monte Real. These airplanes had given service also in Bissau, Guine, during a brief period of time. They had been removed of the service in 1980 and the Air Museum makes use of some units in static exposition. By Jose Leandro.
