FS2004 Republic F-105 Thunderchief, aka "Thud". The 44th TFS began to make a name for itself in the air war over Southeast Asia shortly after its arrival at Korat Royal Thai Air Force Base in December 1964. As one of the first F105 units to deploy on temporary rotation out of their home base of Kadena Okinawa to Thailand, the unit flew combat missions during two more deployments to Korat. This aircraft, tail number AF 62 - RE 321, was an F-105D assigned to the 44th Tactical Fighter Squadron "Vampires." By Bill Baldwin.
