CFS2 Canadian Car And Foundry G-23 / Grumman FF-1. The Canadian Car and Foundry G-23 was the export version of Grumman FF-1. Built in Canada, this factory was used by Spanish Republic for buying the US aircraft. Only about 32-33 reached Spain, but 40 planes were paid for. On reaching Spain, these planes equiped Grupo 28 of Escuadra 7. They operated from Catalonian and Valencian airfields. Armament was two Vickers front guns and one Shkas or two Degtarevs or two Vickers rear guns. Two 50 kg, four 25 kg or ten 10 kg bombs under the wings.
