CFS2 Buffalos At Midway Mission. On the morning of June 4, 1942, Lt. Joichi Tomonaga led a massive strike force of Vals, Kates and Zeros to attack the scantly defended Island of Midway. The brave pilots of VMF-221, flying the hoplessly outclassed F2A Buffalo, rose up to defend their island against a technologically and numerically superior enemy.
