About This File
FS98 North American F-86E Sabre "Heller Bust X". The North American Sabre was the right aircraft at the right time and in the right place in the Korean war, in which MiG-15 was proving to be a far better dogfighter than those Western military experts expected, and only the experienced skills of the American pilots provided the edge. This model is depicted as a Sabre F-86E-10-NA, s/n 51-2756, with shark mouth and checker markings, flown by Capt. Edwin L Heller, 16th FIS, 51st FIW, USAF in 1953. By Shigeru Tanaka.
