FU3 scenery--Greenbank Heights Private Field (2GR), Whidbey Island, Washington USA. Rwy 34: 1000m x 50m uphill natural dirt Rwy 16: 1000m x 50m downhill natural dirt. Situated in one of the most beautiful spots of northern WA, the sleepy town of Greenbank overlooks the Saratoga Passage and Holmes Harbour on Whidbey Island. The rather well equipped private field (night lighting!) of Greenbank Heights offers a beautiful spot to stay for a night or two, sunsets and rises are not to be missed when watched from the fire tower on the field. Fly-ins guide you between Whidbey Air Park and Coupeville, the 34 approach is advised (obstructions on final) because you might not want to try a downhill landing. Takeoffs from runway 16 are preferred, although you may try the uphill takeoff if your engine is strong enough, you'll be rewarded with a suprisingly stunning view after making the hill.
