FS98 B.A.C Lightning F3 XP702 of 56 squadron. This aircraft has the large firebird insignia on the fin while the squadron was based at RAF Wattisham during the mid 70's. XP702 entered service in 1964 with 74 sqn, transfered to 56 sqn from 1967-75 then 5 sqn and finally 11 sqn in 1980. The aircraft ended its days at the Otterburn range as a target and decoy airframe.
