FS2004 SPGLChagual.zip

Chagual Airport (ICAO: SPGL) is an airport serving the town of Chagual (es) in the La Libertad Region of Peru. The runway is in a deep canyon, on the banks of the Marañón River. The airport is NOT included as a default in FS2004.
This download resembles the airport in its location with surrounding mountain ranges and valleys. To add realism it has also some AI traffic included.

1/ I put fictitious NDB at the airport - Frequency 216. This is to help you to fly in and find the location. Your ADF (when tuned to 216) should point to the airport. Otherwise, good luck.  it is tricky to sneak through the valleys to land there. Slow and easily maneuverable aircraft is recommended. Usable runway 14/32 is about 4000ft long. Also, good brakes are recommended.
See the pictures in folder zzz Flight to SPGL with LET 410 showing my flight sequence to runway 14, some also showing the GPS terrain map and instrument readings.

2/ Short flight to Chagual is from Trujillo (SPRU-which I also slightly enhanced with gates) You can follow the AI Cessna leaving Trujillo at 17.00 GMT. Or follow the Learjet leaving Lima (SPLP) at 19.30 GMT. BUT!!! Watch out on descent to Chagual please; since the AI aircraft (due to AI restrictions) will "non-realistically approach through the mountains, you need to carve through the valleys and sharply bank to line up with the runway. (My FS2004 Tutorial To Turn ILS Approaches Using ADE in Flightsim would not work in such a tight environment - also doubt Chagual would have the ILS:)

3/ There is part 1 and 3 Peru-Ecuador mesh from Cesar Marinho included in the download. There should be no restrictions for freeware, so it was used here. (Note from Cesar is included). If required, all parts of this mesh are also available for download in Flightsim,

4/ There are Peruvian A-37 Dragonflies for FS2004 used in AI traffic. These are from Pascal Suls and also have no restrictions for freeware. (Note from Pascal is included and, as requested, I have emailed him).

5/ There is also a default AI Cessna and Learjet operating. Please note that all AI traffic takes off OK but due to AI restrictions disappears in the mountains. So, the AI is mainly showing to bring some life to the airport.

6/ Finally, there are cows at end of runway 32. I was told these are not bothered by the aircraft noise:)

Good luck flying and long live FS2004.
