The Airbus A350-900 is the first Airbus model to be made of carbon-fibre-reinforced polymers, entering service in 2013. Its new fuselage with 9-abreast economy class cross-section carries between 300 and 350 passengers, and two 84,200 flb Rolls Royce Trent XWB 3-shaft, high bypass turbofans give the airliner 0.89 Mach maximum cruise speed, and 0.85 Mach normal cruise, with a range of 8,300 nautical miles. It competes with Boeing B777 and B787, replacing Airbus A340-300 and -500 units.
