Fantastic 2D panel, payware quality here and in the other unique aircraft in this series. 2D panels have always been my personal preference for flightsimming, and Dgon55's panels are outstanding.

 

The SU-15 has an infamous place in history as the plane that shot down Korean Air Lines Flight 007 during the awful 1980s Cold War period.

I also prefer 2D panels in flight simulators, especially for practicing landing in difficult weather conditions. Only the monitor screen needs a big one. The 2D panel is stationary (compared to the 3D panel), which is more consistent with the interaction of the pilot-cockpit system of the aircraft. I use the No. D-panel only in combat simulators and during visual landing, before entering the descent glide path.

Little known fact. The Su-15 had the highest landing speed among the production aircraft of the USSR. Before leveling off, the speed was supposed to be 390-380 km/h, the touchdown speed of the runway was 360-350 km/h. For this feature, as well as very high sensitivity during roll control (he performed the "barrel" aerobatics figure in 1.5 seconds), the pilots gave him the unofficial name "Mustang".

Much more transpired than just lack of communication. The 747 crossed into Soviet airspace due to a navigation error. The local air defense commander was ordered by General Kornukov to shoot down the aircraft even if identified as a civilian. Not sure if his orders could have been any more clear. And with the command structure in place at the time, there most likely could not have been any other outcome to this territorial transgression.
