About This File

FS2004/FSX/P3D DXTFixerX Utility v2.3. This tool fixes the stutters and slow texture loading caused by dxt3 and dxt5 textures without an active alpha channel. The bug occurs when using Imagetool to convert a 32bit bitmap files with a 100% opaque (white) alpha channel to DXT3 or DXT5. This causes stuttering in FS2004 (FS9). It's not as big of a problem in FSX/P3D as they mainly use DDS compression, but it's still good practice to use DXTFixerX here as well, as 3rd party addons might have these faulty textures sometimes. This tool simply and quickly scans your installation and fixes any faulty textures. The program is a stand-alone program - no installation required. Works in Windows 10. By Peter Nyman (neumanix).

I think it is much better to convert the dxt textures to dds.

All you need is:

Image dds Converter-from Falcon.

dxt_dds.bat

ImageTool.exe

I found it together with the:

DASSAULT FALCON 50 native FOR FSX /P3D

in www.flightsim.com/

Twice before (when it was first released) I tried downloading and got a blank page and noted that to the developer. This time I was able to download and tried to run the program but I get an error message that it can't create a logfile. Win10_64bit. . .FSX

As a follow-up. The readme says it can be placed anywhere, then run the program. I remembered a similar type problem many years ago and so placed the folder inside the main FSX folder, ran the program again and it worked. So while it may run unattached under most circumstances, it appears that in this case it would not.
