About This File FSX/P3D v4/v5 Native Cessna 172 Float Plane Fix, for use with CESSNA172_FLOATPLANE.ZIP. This fixes the water rudder not showing in the original model. Just replace the mdl file by this one. Fix by A.F. Scrub.
Case 10 Posted January 20, 2021 Share Hi, I applied the fix however the rudder sensitivity is virtually non-responsive. Yes I have "dropped" the rudders (ctrl W), but the condition remains the same. I do have other float planes and the rudder response is normal. Any suggestions? Thanks, nice model BTW!

Case 10 Posted February 16, 2021 Share Hi afscrub,To enhance the water rudder response the fix is rather simple: 1) Open the Aircraft CFG file 2) Scroll down to [contact points] 3) REPLACE (copy and paste) the original points; 8=5 and 9=5 with the ones below. point.8=5,-15.106, -4.534, -8.500, 2165.354, 0.000, 0.000, 20.0, 0.635, 2.500, 0.709, 0.000, 0.000, 2.000, 0.000, 0.000point.9=5,-15.106, 4.534, -8.500, 2165.354, 0.000, 0.000, 20.0, 0.635, 2.500, 0.709, 0.000, 0.000, 3.000, 0.000, 0.000 4) Save/replace the now modified CFG file. This fix should render a more responsive control when using the water rudders and will not impact the in-flight rudder control. Happy flying, Case
Case 10 Posted February 19, 2021 Share Hey AFScrub,FYI: Just noticed that while the flaps do appear to work, they do not visually drop when engaged as viewed from outside the aircraft. The instrument panel flap switch does work. Did the water rudder sensitivity change work for you? Case
Case 10 Posted February 19, 2021 Share Hey OOPS, PLEASE ignore the above post. My mistake, the flaps do engage and visually drop. I was having a computer hiccup! Best, Case
