About This File

MSFS 2020 Updated Exterior Night Lights. New exterior night lighting for all aircraft. They aren't perfect as some of the lights on certain aircraft are programmed a bit different like the taxi light on the A320... it has a three position switch but only one slot works so I had to compensate but you can see a bit better now while landing and taxiing. Please see the attached video link and be sure to read the INSTALL README and see the install directory screenshot included in the zip... very important. Feel free to tinker around with the files if you can make them better and let me know. Hopefully the producers of the sim will correct the night lighting in an update. By deepdiver8055.

Well I appreciate it but I think it still needs a lot of work yet. I just had to do something to get it a little better. The taxi lights actually light up more in some cases then the landing lights. For some reason by adjusting the same numbers for both taxi and landing lights, the landing lights didn't respond the same or didn't increase the brightness like the taxi lights did. I'm thinking to try and rename the taxi light effect to landing lights and vice versa so that more light will show for landing lights. I'll play around with it and maybe i can get it to work better. If so, I'll make an update on the files and make a new set of lights.

Even so it is a HUGE improvement over stock. I tried to do some tweaks and just messed it up so stocking with what you did :P If you can make it even better, that's, well, even better! :D

Agree with Jefferey C!! I'll wait until the patch for the 747 comes out to see what they have fixed and not fixed, and then play with the lights as necessary. But again, a BIG set in the right direction

This is MUCH better, flying the Baron I had to use the synthvision at night just to see where I was going! Although you are right, the taxi light does seem too bright, it somehow makes more light than both the landing lights do. The landing lights seem about right but yeah the taxi light should probably be less bright than the landing lights. Either way I can see at night now!
