About This File

FSX B-47 Stratojet Updated. The Boeing B47 Stratojet (Boeing company designation Model 450) is a retired American long-range, six-engined, turbojet-powered strategic bomber designed to fly at high subsonic speed and at high altitude to avoid enemy interceptor aircraft. The primary mission of the B-47 was as a nuclear bomber capable of striking targets within the Soviet Union. This is a new FSX update of my previous 2015 update, now featuring a modified and highly authentic virtual cockpit and 2D panel. The VC now includes functioning throttles and gear lever as well as a more realistic interior giving the pilot a better feeling of being in the real cockpit. I've also tweaked the FDE for better performance and flight stability. Automatic exhaust smoke and burner effect added. Thanks to Bill Holker for the great model he had designed for FS2004. All new updates by Michael Pook. The model nay also work in FS2004 and P3D (version 3).

These are some nice updates for the classic medium bomber. I remember as a child I would watch the B-47s on long approach to Homestead AFB, Fl and the drogue chute was deployed. Very nice touches and keeps you on your toes during approach. Good job.

I thought I had read in the readme about pilot textures... hmm. my cockpit is vacant.. the crew must still be in the snack bar.... This is a good plane to fly... Thank you for your efforts.... Terry

thanks for your appreciation. Quite a few things described in the readme evidently don't work in FSX but

as for the pilots, using the standard light key makes them rush from the snack bar into the cockit, strange phenomenon. Michael

Michael, Thank you for the update. I just noticed while on approach they are there. I landed and poof they pull a disappearing act on me. I noticed the lights turn off upon landing. What ever you do, don't turn on the deice switch while on short final. I read the xml and it tries to send two engines into AB, which the real one only had water injection. These two engines are both on left side..That's fun the first time it happens. I was landing at Boeing field in freezing rain...take a little precaution... oops.....

Anyway... it's a fun airplane.. Thank you for sharing it with us....tp
