About This File

FSX/P3D v3,v4 Vought Corsair F4U-1a. The Corsair entered service in 1942. Although designed as a carrier fighter, initial operation from carrier decks proved to be troublesome. Its low-speed handling was tricky. Landing a Corsair on a carrier was a difficult task. For these reasons, most Corsairs initially went to Marine Corps squadrons which operated off land-based runways. The U.S. Navy did not get into combat with the type until September 1943. Native FSX/Prepar3D v3, v4 model by A.F. Scrub.

To correct this aircraft's severe pull to the left on takeoff, add these lines to the [flight tuning] section of the aircraft.cfg file:

p_factor_on_yaw = 0.5

torque_on_roll = 0.5

Then, takeoff with as little power applied as possible.

Pretty colours (I've waited years for that style!) and a great cockpit!

Many thanks!
