About This File

FSX/P3D USAF Fairchild C-119C 024. This is a repaint of a Fairchild C-119C in USAF colors. Daisuke Yamamoto's freeware C-119 is needed for this repaint. USAF C-119C 8024 (MSN 10767) has a bit of a history. It was assigned to 316th Troop Carrier Group (Tactical Air Command), Sewart AFB, Tennessee in 1951. 316th TCG was renamed 314th Troop Carrier Wing, and this C-119C was converted to C-119G between 1955 and 1957. In 1957 it became part of 2466th Air Reserve Flying Center (USAF Reserve), Bakalar AFB, Indiana. Then in May 1958 it joined 2472nd Air Reserve Flying Detachment (AFRES), Tinker AFB, Olahoma. Over the next 10 years it went to 3 AFRES squadrons in Oklahoma and Indiana, before joining the 71st Air Command Squadron (TAC), Lockbourne AFB, Ohio in June 1968. In that same year it switched to the 4413th Combat Crew Training Squadron (TAC), Lockbourne AFB, Ohio. Then another move in February 1969 saw it join the 1st Special Operations WIng (TAC), Lockbourne AFB, Ohio. July 1969 was its time to move to the 4410th Combat Crew Training WIng (TAC), Lockbourne AFB, Ohio. It stayed there until March 1970 when it was retired from Air Force service and delivered to the Strategic Air Command Museum, at Offut AFB, Omaha, Nebraska. Finally in 1997 it went to a new museum at Ashland, 25 miles west of Offut, and underwent a major restoration. It is now on display and fully restored, at the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum at Ashland, Nebraska. Textures are 32bit BMP. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE. It should also work on FSX, P3D v1-3. By Ted Giana.
