FSX/P3D Aero Virgin Islands DC-3 c.1983. This is a repaint of the Douglas DC3 in Aero Virgin Islands colors. The freeware DC-3 (C-47) by Manfred Jahn is needed for this repaint. Aero Virgin Islands began operations in the spring of 1977. The fleet was basically all DC-3s. Their route network consisted of flights to St. Thomas, and Saint Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and San Juan, in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico-based airline Prinair was the company’s main competitor until their bankruptcy in 1984. Prinair’s failure gave the opportunity for Aero Virgin to be more involved in the region. However, the airline faltered as its aging fleet of DC-3s got many problems, which led to them virtually being unusable. Then, the total destruction of the DC-3 fleet occurred when Hurricane Hugo struck in September 1989. This is a repaint of N28346, which was destroyed in that Hurricane. Textures are 32bit DDS. This repaint was tested on P3D v3. It should also work on FSX and FSX-SE. By Ted Giana.
