The airport handles national and international air traffic of the city of Morelia. Named after former governor of Michoacan Francisco Jose Mugica. General Francisco J. Mujica International Airport it is the largest in the state of Michoacan. It handled 535,900 passengers in 2016, and 618,800 passengers in 2017.
