About This File

FS2004/FSX VC And FDE Update For The North American P-51 H. This is a VC and FDE update for the North American P-51H Mustang, recently posted by A.F. Scrub. It adds more gauges and some eye-candy to the VC and fixes the inaccurate gauge positioning of most gauges. In additon, I've altered somen parameters and added a "flight tuning" entry in the aircraft.cfg (e.g. the aircraft extremely pulled left during take off), reconfigured the smoke effect and added VC light for night flights. Easy installation. New updates by Michael Pook. Required file: MUSTANG_P51H_V2.ZIP.

Warning! Do NOT overwrite the original panel.cfg with the new panel.cfg in this file (not without first backing up the original) as the HSI on the 2D panel will disappear! Use the original panel.cfg instead.

the new panel doesn't have a HSI, instead there is a compass which is visible in the 2D panel as well as in the VC! Not using the new panel kills all the extras in the VC.

Then the empty HSI gauge should be removed. Leaving it makes the panel itself look tacky and might make users think the panel is incomplete and missing an instrument. At the very least the download description and readme file should make the user aware that the HSI in the panel has been intentionally removed. Personally, I'd rather use a panel that looks complete even if it means killing all the extras in the VC vs a panel that looks like it is missing an instrument. I never use the VC anyway.
