About This File

FSX Douglas DC-8 Mega Package. This an update of my previous upload of the Douglas DC8, which now includes eight liveries (Lufthansa, KLM, Thai, Pan Am, Swissair, Iberia, JAL and an enhanced texture of the default Alitalia). The package now also includes the missing effect controller for smoke and burners. As it is the same aircraft otherwise, remove the original package and replace it with this one. All credits go to Capt. D'Attono for the original model and special thanks go to Andre Ludick for his great repaints for this legendary jetliner. Panel and effect updates by Michael Pook.

Outside textures sub-par to many freeware these days, but still looks nice. I appreciate the efforts into putting a VC in the DC-8, but come on, even the Dev knows this VC is horrendous. Looks NOTHING like a DC-8 cockpit and VERY rough around the edges. This is the first time in my entire history of flight simming where I've preferred to use the 2D panel over the VC. Hopefully they are working on smoothing out the VC and making it a little more tolerable for future updates. All in all, still a nice freeware aircraft. Recommended to anyone who doesn't mind using the 2D panel.

Well, buddy, your history of flight simming can't be very long! You're perfectly right, this is not a

perfect VC, but I have seen much worse VCs than this one and have tried to improve and enhance them. The default panel bitmaps of this plane didn't allow for more improvement. As this is hobby and freeware, there is no reason for that kind of arrogant criticism unless one can do a better job.

Great work, great to fly. I am a FS old timer flying since the 1990s and I regular user of Michael Pook aircraft modifications.

To Lordhearteater: sorry, there is no paintkit.

to Heukensfield: thanks for your appreciation!

to Widowmaker: this is an old model, so it definitely won't work with DX10, sorry.
