About This File

X-Plane 11 Vickers Viscount 806 1.0. This is David Starling's Vickers Viscount, converted for X-Plane 11. The Vickers Viscount was the first turboprop airliner to enter service. The prototype flew on July 16, 1948. Certification was granted on April 14, 1953, and it entered service with British European Airlines (BEA), the next day. This model represents G-APIM in its final configuration, in its British Airways (BA) colors. G-APIM was the last 806 retired by BA. In 1982 In British Air Ferries (BAF) purchased G-APIM, plus several other Ex BA V.800 Viscounts. G-APIM flew with BAF, until a ground accident in 1988 ended her career. Built to TCDS specs. Features accurate airfoils, thermodynamically rated engine, custom panel and a British Airways livery. Be sure to read the POH. Thank you to David Starling for creating this aircraft for X-Plane. By Sean McLeod (Aerostarsim).
