X-Plane 10 Scenery--EGEC Campbeltown Airport 2.4. Campbeltown airport is situated in the Kintyre peninsula in Argyll and Bute on the west coast of Scotland. The airfield was formally a RAF base known as RAF Machrihanish and it is still owned by the Ministry of Defence, although now run by the Highlands and Islands Airports Limited. Version 2.0 onwards is a complete remake of the scenery.
