FSX Acceleration Service Pack

   (0 reviews)

About This File

FSX Acceleration Service Pack. Service pack Update for FSX Acceleration. This is an update for FSX that some people may be unaware they need. It contains an .exe file that will install a missing portion of service pack 1 that was left out of Acceleration. The .dll file in the other folder may be needed for those who have FSX crash when accessing menus; or as happened to me, needed to be there so FSX Acceleration did not crash early each session while running under Windows 8.1. The SP1 update also makes it possible to see carriers in Acceleration that otherwise would not be able to be seen. These files are on the internet for anyone to download, but I don't remember coming across an update like this to bring peoples attention to them. By Bob Chicilo.

@beana5 It's not needed, this is for FSX boxed users.

It's already a part of FSX: Steam. In your Steam FSX folder (usually in Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\ ) look in SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces\FSX-XPACK\

It should be already installed, but if not, you should see SimConnect.msi in that folder. Run this to install the original (legacy) versions of simconnect.

Not sure where all this talk of Simconnect has come from.

This package contains:

1) KB961894_VC _Post_2005_SP1

2) UIAutomationCore.dll 6.0.6001.18000

1) is a Windows runtime library update that, funnily enough, allows windows to detect and apply a further VC 2010 Library update.

2) Is a DLL that "should" prevent crashes when accessing menus. I have, however, used this version in the past and had it cause problems under Windows 7. I "downgraded" to version 6.0.5840.16386 and have not had any problems with it. Maybe, once the update in 1) takes effect, then the version included will work properly. If not, then try the version listed.
