X-Plane 9.70+ WAC Bumper (V-2 Corporal). The WAC Corporal, designed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory was a very capable sounding rocket in its own right (it eventually developed into the Sergeant tactical missile). Back in 1946 Col Holger Toftoy of the US Army Ordinance office had the idea of mating it with the newly captured German V-2 rockets to produce a rocket capable of breaking the altitude record and reaching far into space (without the expense of developing an entirely new rocket).
