X-Plane 10.50 Scenery--KMAC Herbert Smart Downtown Airport, Macon, Georgia (GA), served the USA both in WWI and WWII, the latter as a chemical weapons training facility. In 1936 Eastern Airlines served Macon from MAC. After WWII Delta Airlines was added. In 1948 a tornado hit the airport destroying many aircraft. Macon's main airport then became KMCN, and MAC its GA relief. Today, Middle Georgia State U. maintains an aircraft piloting and support program at MAC which also vends fueling. MAC averages 63 flight ops/day, 69% GA and 30% transient. It supports jet and turboprop charters. 31 aircraft are based at MAC. Requires OpenScenery-X (OPENSCENERYX.ZIP). By Bruce Erwin.
