About This File
CFS Macro--Ford 1940 Fire Truck (USA). The Ford Fire Truck 1940, was a fire engine built on American Ford 3-ton chassis that saw service in World War II. American and German Ford 3-ton cargo trucks had the characteristic prow-shaped grille of the 1940 series, which replaced the oval-shaped grille of 1938 model. They were powered by V-8 3.9L engines producing roughly 90 HP. The main outer difference of USA Ford is the two-piece windshield (instead the one-piece windshield on German Fords). By Edmundo Abad.
