About This File

FS98 Curtiss Wright AT-9A Jeep. Special FS98 Edition. 1943 upgrade of the advanced 1941 twin-engined WWII trainer, built to prepare pilots for the new generation, high performance bombers. Deliberately designed unforgiving and difficult to fly and land, it was however fully acrobatic, and reported by many as delightful if flown by the book. It was powered by two 300 hp Lycoming R680-11 or -13 9-cyl radials, and had a top speed of 200 mph, slightly more than the initial model. It also had revised undercarriage-retraction hydraulics. 300 units were built. Unit U-124 in this release, was based at Army Air Corps Advanced Training Base, Yuma, Arizona, 1942/45.Includes SCASM-added virtual cockpit and custom panel for default gauges. Fuselage, fin and wing textures by Udo Entenmann. By Stephan Scholz.
