About This File

FS2004 Scenery--Churchill Port And York Factory, MB, Canada. The main part of this scenery installs the Port of Churchill and the grain silos, built in two years and opened in 1927. Churchill CYYQ has been made by Sidney Schwartz, and this also slightly modifies his parking to make a parking space big enough to cater for an AI C46; AI also includes Calm Air and Kivalliq Air. Churchill is in northern Manitoba, on the east side of the mouth of the Churchill River where it empties into Hudson Bay. Grain from the Canadian prairies is hauled north by rail to the Churchill Port for export to Europe by a sea route that is significantly shorter than any other. South of Churchill, at the mouth of the Hayes River, there is an old trading post called York Factory, built in 1684 and preserved as part of the living history of the north of Canada. The second scenery is for this, and for the nearby tourist camp called Silver Goose Lodge. By Roger Wensley.
