About This File

FS2004 Scenery--Watson Lake CYQH And CEJ9 in YT, Canada. Watson Lake is at 2200 feet asl in the Yukon Territories, less than five miles north of the border with BC. The airport was built during WW2 and the town of Watson Lake came into being because of the airports existance, though with the closure of two mines that the airport used to serve both the airport and the town are in a downward spiral; there is some hope that one mine will reopen (for the 4th time?). The AI is set as per the late 90's (or 2015?) and Central Mountain Air fly in daily. The airport originally had two runways, but one is closed and the remaining one is 08-26, 5500 feet and 150 feet wide. There are two aprons, the northern one being half-used by CL 415 fire-fighting planes (included in the AI) with tanks for foam and fuel and accomodation buildings. The southern apron has a large original hangar, smaller buildings, and the timber-built terminal building with its control tower. There is a mandatory radio frequency and the tower is set as "manned 24 hours". Fuel is available. Taxiway F is in bad condition, not lit, and receives no winter maintenance. Watson Lake floats CEJ9 is to the east, and there are just two AI flights per day, early and late. All the buildings for CYQH are modeled specifically, but the CJE9 shed is a guess.
