X-Plane UrbanMAXX Free, Urban Maxx uses high definition satellite photography as a starting point to help populate the world with minimal impact on frame rates. The included textues are not actual satellite overlays but were developed to give the impression of flying over an urban environment. Using this technique allows the X-Plane 10 user to dial down some of the rendering settings while still allowing them to fly in a populated world.
