FS2004 SAAF Kittyhawk Mk.IV #5077 "R", 11 OTU SAAF 1944 WWII. Textures only. The Curtiss Kittyhawk was used extensively in WWII during the Desert campaign in North Africa by the Commonwealth air forces. Among these Commonwealth air forces was the South African Air Force or SAAF. This Kittyhawk Mk.IV serial 5077 "R" is painted in A-Flight 11 Operational Training Unit colors 1944. 2/Lt C.L. Stevenson put this Kittyhawk IV 5077 "R" on its nose on 24 March 1944. Delivered to 9 AD on 8 October 1943 it went first to 15 AD on 22 October before joining 11 OTU on 9 November. It survived the war, only to be sold to Metal Sales (Pty) Ltd. for the pricely sum of £6-0-0! Requires the original model by K. Malinowski and J. McDaniel. Repaint by Morne Pieters.
