FS2002 Scenery--Airport At Tongariro National Park, New Zealand. Tongariro Airport, New Zealand, ICAO NZTP (fictional). Tongariro National Park is famous for its 'alpine' village for access to the Whakapapa ski slopes at Mt Ruapehu, or Mt. Ngauruhoe, and Mt. Tongariro. The challenge is to land and stop on the summit of the mountains in winter, otherwise just ski down in your Cessna or change to a glider and glide down back to airport. This is reported to be easier from this side of the mountains. There is one runway - 34/16 3000 feet asphalt - for national and international flights. By David Eyles.
