FS98 B-1B Lancer Block-E Panel. This panel reflects the U.S. Air Force Cockpit Upgrade Program (CUP) to modernize the B-1B to Block E standard in order to make it capable of launching multiple weapons in a single sortie, and to enable the B-1B to carry new weapons. The added flexiblity requires that the avionics and computers be modernized in order to add increased speed and memory as well as much more capable graphic support to improve weapons delivery and situational awareness. The new computers / displays will make it easier for future weapon integration while improving tactical employment. The B-1B is a very capable aircraft which has set several land speed and endurance records. It is reported by F-15 pilots who fly at Red Flag exercises that the B-1B is virtually impossible to catch from behind at low level. The hand painted panel has good forward visibility, GPS and moving map as well as seperate throttle quadrant. Panel by Dennis Husted.
