MikeN87
I would love to have better scenery when I fly X-Plane on my computer, but I'm nervous about getting a virus or getting hacked after downloading scenery software. So my question is, is it safe to install third party scenery software on your computer? Thanks Mike
RatRace
I am not aware that anyone has ever suffered a virus attack from using third party scenery software. Given the format of XP scenery files, such an occurence seems very unlikely to me. As a general rule, always download from a respectable site such as flightsim.com. Files are scanned before being allowed into the library, and of course, you should also rely on your own virus scanner at all times.
P.e.g.a.s.u.s
As RatRace said, if you get it from a good source, and others have used it before, and it doesn't come with an installer or executable *.exe file, and it clears a virus scan, you should be fine. ^^^^ ´´´\/``` AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 48GB RAM, RTX 2070S, 2x1TB Nvme SSD.
