Tigermoth100
I have Plane 10 and Saitek instruments. I have them connected via powered USB hubs but my computer says that it has insufficient USB controllers so not all the instruments work. What is the issue here and what can I do about it? I have a high end gaming laptop.
P.e.g.a.s.u.s
You might get this message if your powered USB hubs do not provide enough power for the number of connections used. Cheap powered USB hubs, for example, might have 6 ports but the provided current might only be enough for 3-4 to be used simultaneously. ^^^^ ´´´\/``` AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 48GB RAM, RTX 2070S, 2x1TB Nvme SSD. evm
As I wrote in the shoutbox, modern chipsets have a hard limit for the number of USB devices that can be connected to the single USB controller hardware that it has. Every USB hub (internally and externally) counts as a device too, and if you are using multiple external connections you will reach that limit (around 24 devices IIRC) pretty quickly. I was taken by surprise by this too when I built a new PC a few months back. The only solution was to add an additional USB Controller PCIe card - but on a laptop you usually don't have that option.
