Microsoft FixIt gone.

There was a question about error 1607. In cm effort to help I googled it, expecting a quick fix.

I found a thread referring to a Microsofs FixIt solution.

That looked familiar. But, to my surprise, the link to the actual FixIt solution file led to a 'no longer available' ms page.

 

I remember having to use the file myself in the past, so, not happy with this.

Thanks, but that's the same page I found earlier.

It has instructions for fixing manually.

But the download link there, to the FixIt file, is a redirect to a "FixIt WAS a solution to .... blah blah.)

 

 

I haven't tried with others yet, but I think that means the entire FixIt functionality is now gone. A pity. Every FixIt I ever used worked great.

Then fix it manually. Microsoft is constantly moving, adding, and removing files from their web pages. No, it will not cause a lot of trouble.
