Can my PC run FSX?

Recommended Posts

You can but, as above, performance may a bit of a problem. You might want to try the Steam edition ( http://store.steampowered.com/app/314160/ ). It's on sale for US$7.49 and as long as you don't use it for more than two hours you can get can get a refund within 14 days.

Two hours should be long enough for you to see whether, or not, it will work for you. If you can get an acceptable (to you) frame rate and smoothness on the default settings it's a keeper. If not just ask for your money back. It's a no-lose deal.

Performance will be poor and will need to use low settings - on an old system like this I would consider an overclock of both the CPU and the GPU if you can (just monitor your temperatures and just overclock a little at a time to ensure safety and stability). A ten percent overclock of the CPU would raise framerates by circa 10% as would an overclock of 20% increase by circa 20%.
