MasterEffect Overlay installation affecting Kneeboard Display

Recommended Posts

After installing MasterEffect shaders into FSX and tweaking the settings to my liking, I noticed that the kneeboard display had been affected by the installation of MasterEffect. Maybe a bit archaic, but I use the default kneeboard in FSX to review route waypoints, then plug them into the FMC, if that method happens to be needed, as some FMCs will detect a loaded flightplan. I have since uninstalled MasterEffect, so there are no screenshots, but I can call up the kneeboard, but clicking through each tab, there is nothing displayed. When the route is loaded, the tab that shows info about the flightplan displays nothing. I'm sure there is no fix for this, but could someone provide an explanation as to why this happens?

Renaming the d3d9.dll file present in the P3D folder corrected the issue for P3D, thus the shade is still present with no effect on the kneeboard, but there is no d3d9.dll file in the FSX folder, therefore the shade is present, while still affecting the kneeboard.
