Elvensmith
Browsing YouTube for real take off and landing clips as naughtily (stow electronic devices?!) filmed from the cabin I also encountered quite a number of FS9 and FSX replicated flights which have been made from the passenger viewpoint. So my hopefully simple question is, how do they do that and/or what software is needed to accomplish this? I can't envisage flying an entire flight from the cabin view so how do I specify the flight is recorded from that viewpoint, on aircraft where available? Thanks in anticipation... Vern. il88pp
I don't record myself. I think one way would be to use two screens. Record the one with the cabin view, and use a 2D panel to fly it on the other screen. But there's probably a better way. I think some recording softwares (payware??) offer this. You fly and record as normal. Then, while playing the video you can walk through the different viewpoints, and look around. You then record the playback while changing views and looking around. Later dub in sound as well. Can't advise you on the software, as I don't use any. You will of course need a plane with a cabin modeled. I hope that was somewhat accurate, il [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
napamule2
The software are FSRecorder 2.1 (for FSX) and FRAPS. You need to buy registed version of FRAPS because the free version only records 29.9 seconds. You make your flight. Your flight can be 3000 seconds (50 minutes) as far as FSRecorder is concerned. Read the PDF for keys that FSRecorder uses (such as F keys). But you can still change views while recording by using the 'A' and 'S' keys (with 'Shift+A' and 'Shift+S' for backwards view change). You do 'Instant Replay' of FSRecorder footage and record with FRAPS while playing the 'Instant Replay'. While recording (FRAPS) you can change views (FSRecorder) to move in/out of cockpit, or tower, or flyby. FRAPS records 'what you see' (on screen). That simple. The final edits of FRAPS *.avi clips can be done in Win Movie Maker or Sony Vegas. You then render your final movie using Movie Maker or Sony Vegas.
