munnst
Can anyone recommend a good, VR headset that works well with FSX? I want to use this headset in favour of Track IR. My budget around £200 ($250) Thanks, Ted.

munnst
The Oculus Rift DK 2 with the Flyinside tool. Works very well, mate! :) Do you mean the DK2 version? It's priced @ $1500 US Dollars!
LeFrog73
DK2 is the older variant. It is cheap. You mean the Oculus Rift CV1. ☺
munnst
Oh, okay, thanks. Seems the DK2 is out of production while the Rift is not yet in production. At £500 it's a little pricey. Any others available that are not so expensive or is the `rift` the one to have?
LeFrog73
You can buy a used one via eBay. I think in your priceclass it is the cheapest/best. It is a really nice device, especially for a Flight Simulator like the FSX. I am using it and after the first flight with it, I don't wanna flight anymore without it. Another nice device is a Leap Motion Controller. Everytime I flying with the FSX, Oculus and Leap Motion Controller, my wife is laughing because it must look very crazy from the outside. munnst
I think I will wait for the `Rift` to come out. Might as well spend double and get quality, than blow a few hundred on a second hand DK2 that may or may not work. Do you get a fps, performance hit with FSX? How do you handle key and joystick input? I'm assuming you can't see your joystick or keyboard with the headset on? Do you need to learn to touch type? :-)
LeFrog73
Do what you want, but why did you ask here for a cheap VR Google when you know what you want? I am out!
