il88pp
get empty usb stick, go to different pc, and download the Freeware: Lazasoft Recovery Suite Home Edition, Install it and run it, have a look at the options, and use it to create a bootstick that contains the Lazasoft password recovery program. plug the boot stick in the locked pc, and make the pc boot from usb, Lazasoft Recovery will start, offering you an option to reset the password. (resetting this on your own pc is ok, but using it on other peoples computer is of course not ok.) I don't think it works on Win10. It also does not work on Encrypted Disks. Disclaimer: I only created a boot stick like this just in case. I never actually used it. So I'm not sure if it works. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
longbreak754
There is an option to find out/reset your password without the use of a password hacking tool. See this website for a step by step guide http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows-8/a/reset-password-windows-8.htm. It does, however, require you to type specific commands etc and requires some 'hopping' between web pages that give the necessary instructions. If you don't want to go down this route see this page for some other password hacking tools. Regards Brian

macwelch
The easiest method is to create windows reset disk with USB drive. Then use it to set the admin password to blank. I have done this on a window7 box, which works fine. And most important, there is no data loss with this method.

il88pp
Burnell77, You can make a Windows Password Reset disc BEFORE you lock yourself out. It's a emergency access key. You create it from a menu in Windows Control Panel, you can't create it now you're locked out. (see link in mrunsavory's post.) Did you try Lavasoft? Bullard
Do you have a password reset disk? Boot your computer in safe mode, try to login with the built-in administrator account.
Bullard
I just came upon a few methods for resetting lost Windows password. It seems that Windows password could be bypassed with either a Windows install CD or Offline NT Password & Registry Editor: http://www.top-password.com/blog/reset-windows-10-password-with-sticky-keys/ http://www.chntpw.com/download/ http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/tp/passrecovery.htm I hope these will be helpful for you to solve your password problem.
