cmjones
I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 which went very smoothly with no problems. However now my FSX frame rate maxes out at a measly 15. Yet the Steam FSX easily tops 50 plus frames/sec. I never saw this variance running Win 7. Why is the Steam version so much better on Win 10? amberdog1
I have FSX boxed, 1st on Win 8.1 then with 10. My frame rates have always been around 20-30.
ghembree
Windows 10 or windows 7 for fsx steam? Which works best?
jorgen.s.andersen
I have never had Win 7, so can't say anything about that. I have had FSX on Win 8, 8.1 and now on 10, and it works just fine, PROVIDED that you install it correctly, that is, NOT under C:\Program Files(x86) where Microsoft wants to install it, but under for instance C:\FSX or similar. ghembree
If it is filed in C\FSX or similar does the remove some restrictions on the operation of windows 10 or what? George
jorgen.s.andersen
Yes, you will then be outside the fearful reach of UAC, and be able to edit .cfg files normally. Jorgen
ghembree
Ok so that's the hang up for add on aircraft being recognized using the add on fsxpilot. UAC will not allow the new aircraft to be added to the default list in fsxpilot add on. George
