Question RE NVidia Inspector

PhantomTweak

Recommended Posts

Ok, call me a noob, call me a tyro, whatever.

Once one sets up a profile for let us say FSX, do I need to leave NI running, minimized?

Or is it that once you run it, and set up you profile, you can close it and the profile is applied to the NVidea card's software?

I just got a new PC for FS9 and FSX, and it rocks, but I want it BEST.

I want it to be all it can be :D

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Pat☺

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!

Hi Pat,

I think you don't have to have NI running.

My basic understanding on how NI (and other similiar tools) works is that, when you make changes to the settings using the NI control panel (CP) and save the profile it 'records' the changes to the appropriate registry key values for the 'game' being configured. These values are then applied when the 'game' is run, just as they would if a profile was configured/saved using the default Nvidia CP.

Regards

Brian

I don't keep NI running.

After I make changes, and close it, and then run fsx, I see the changes in FSX.

The changes are still there next time I run FSX.

And I just checked and NI is not in startup items. Further proof it does not need to be running.

(Never saw it in startup items either.)
