CptCaveman
Your going to need a defrag if thats on a mechanical drive. The amount of data you have installed is quite large and will need defragged to ensure proper streaming of textures. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Conzy6
I forgot to mention i done a fresh reset on my computer and deleted everything on my HDD then I reinstalled FSX, HDD has barely anything on it
Sselv
I forgot to mention i done a fresh reset on my computer and deleted everything on my HDD then I reinstalled FSX, HDD has barely anything on it Right, but installing FSX loads the files in a defrag'd manner. Defrag it again since it is now installed and see if that helps. AND FYI....the consensus here is to NOT load FSX in the Programs (x86) folder. many will disagree. Conzy6
I'll defrag it again and report back once its all reinstalled... thanks :)
Conzy6
Defragged my HDD and a fresh install of FSX and still with all the sliders set to max with frames over 100fps with default scenery its blurry all around me
madfred
I don't want to want to sound like I know it all, but am happy to share my thoughts, even though I have a sim computer with an Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU, and am still using the boxed version of fsx. I forgot to mention i done a fresh reset on my computer and deleted everything on my HDD then I reinstalled FSX, HDD has barely anything on it Deleting everything on the HDD doesn't really remove everything. In order to really start clean, you will have two options: 1: use the Flight1 registry cleanup tool, 2: Delete the HDD partition, and re-create it during OS install. And as mentioned by Sselv make sure to install FSx in it's own directory OUTSIDE of the Program Files (x64) folder. Defragged my HDD and a fresh install of FSX and still with all the sliders set to max with frames over 100fps with default scenery its blurry all around me Is your FSX.cfg file still the same as listed earlier, and/or did you make any changes to it? Is the scenery blurry before you change the slider settings (so at default)? Last question is, did you update the graphics driver? Since I have an Nvidia GPU I use Nvidia Inspector to make graphics alreations outside FSX settings. I have no idea if Radeon has anything similar. Hope this gives you some things to look at. Sorry what i meant by deleting my HDD was i reset my pc to factory settings and reinstalled windows, My cfg has changed again but since the reinstall I have made some progress, turns out i was using settings from Radeons game settings but i have remove the FSX profile now which has made a slight improvement, my only problems now are; 1) trees and houses flash into the game as I am flying over them 2) scenery in the far distance is still very blurry :( someone new i just noticed is the trees and houses dont flash into the game anymore but for some strabge reason the ground texture is taking to long so catch up
madfred
Sorry what i meant by deleting my HDD was i reset my pc to factory settings and reinstalled windows, No problem at all, it just clarify's things, lol. My cfg has changed again but since the reinstall I have made some progress, turns out i was using settings from Radeon's game settings but i have remove the FSX profile now which has made a slight improvement, Obviously Radeons game settings (similar to NVidia Inspector) affects the overall appearance of FSX. I would re-create the FSX profile and experiment with the different settings. Maybe the NVidia Inspector settings recommended by Kosta can give you some hints for setting up Radeon's FSX gaming profile. It can be found here: Kosta's FS World It also has recommended settings for FSX, but several of them are already incorporated in FSX Steam Edition. Keep us posted on your progress. svpst
You can use steam to help. They have a number of "guides" which help you full setup, and all kinds of other issues. Go to community and look for Guides* Have cured several issues. And the solutions are all on steam. If you aren't using Stem Edition just forget what I said. Brian W. ScatterbrainKid
..up until yesterday my sim was running great with good fps and scenery looking awesome in the distance, now its gone all blurry after doing a fresh install.. Try juggling the Filtering and Anti-aliasing settings on this screen in case they need waking up- http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/sub2/FSX-Graphs_zpswyqgkwao.jpg~original For example this is default FSX scenery (with Dornier X freeware addon) note how the main highway gets blurry in the distance... http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/sub2/FSX-Trilin-anti-alias_zpsymp2u1zv.jpg~original ...but after trying a few different Flitering and Anti-aliasing settings, things crisp up (below), it's a matter of finding out what your particular system likes best, mine seems to like 'Anisotropic' in the Filtering options- http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/sub2/FSX-Trilin-Aniso_zpsk5irwjbm.jpg~original

evm
In your original cfg from your first post there is no texture filtering. Is this the same as it was or didn't you set any filtering on purpose? This (and AntiAliasing) will affect textures and texture sharpness. I suggest starting with AntiAliasing on and the highest setting for filtering, and pulling it back if FPS don't work out. The autogen popping AFAIK can be caused by the BufferPool setting if your GPU driver profile doesn't match.
