New specs ,Intel celeron dual core 1.g ghz turbo boast to 2.1 ghz 4gb memory 500 gb hard drive using old nividia geforce 8400gs video card 512 mb Fsx Gold Rex extreme GeX Ulitimate terrian usa /canada Recently ordered 4gb more ram should bring me up to 8gb total Looking for ideas on video card either 1gb or 2gb . to improve overall perfromace. currently average 24 FPS sliders set on high. no ai traffic. il88pp Posted November 18, 2015 Share Posted November 18, 2015 You probably know, but thought I should say, more then 4 Gb will only be usable if you have a 64-bit version of Windows. I looked at your card, and I think it's one without a fan. At least get one with a fan. I can't really advise a specific card. Your cpu is not a super fast one, so a very expensive card would not be fully used. 1Gb would already be a nice upgrade. I still use my old EVGA GT430 and like it a lot. 1Gb, fan, and vga, hdmi, and dvi connector. (I use a i5-3570k 3.4-3.8Ghz) For your pc I would look for a similar videocard I think.
