jankees
Cleaning up some old harddisks, I found one with a lot of my old repaints on it...it was fun meeting some old friends. So I brought them all together, and came to a staggering total of over 1400 repaint I did over the last nine years.. So here's a few I really liked: The very first one: http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww230/jcblom60/jcblom60001/ss19855.jpg OK, could have used a bit more alpha, but hey, it was my first paint, back in 2007, and still in FS9 but with FSX, thing improved quickly: http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww230/jcblom60/jcblom60001/ss19873.jpg http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww230/jcblom60/jcblom60001/ss19933.jpg http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww230/jcblom60/jcblom60001/ss19866.jpg http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww230/jcblom60/jcblom60001/ss19861.jpg http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww230/jcblom60/jcblom60001/ss19870.jpg http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww230/jcblom60/jcblom60001/ss19909.jpg http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww230/jcblom60/jcblom60001/ss19878.jpg http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww230/jcblom60/jcblom60001/ss19913.jpg http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww230/jcblom60/jcblom60001/ss19857.jpg of course there are many, many more, but I am still proud of this lot (OK, except for the FS9 ones perhaps..), and I hope it shows the range of things I did. If there is anybody still flying any of my paints, which ones do you use, and why? I would love to know.. Slapping paint on flightsim models you'll find all my FSX/P3D repaints here and all my MSFS repaints here.

PhantomTweak
Amazing paints, really! The reflective textures on the P-51's are awesome. I love that bird, always have. The paints they (and you!) did on them, the nose art, even the engine sound... Just one teensey detail, if I may be so bold. In picture 2, the Mirage: I know for sure that on the Israeli version, the Kfir, which is pretty darn similar (different engine, etc), the pitot tube sticking out the nose there is painted a neon yellow, with small red alignment stripes on the several screws in the plumped out end section. Hopefully to prevent people from walking into it, since it's about fore-head level. Didn't always work, especially with ditzy blonde reporters...Hilarious seeing the bruise on the news, that even make-up couldn't cover. ;) Anyway, I worked on the things for 2+ years in Yuma, so I saw them all day every day. I am guessing the pitot-tube paint was pretty universal, but I've been wrong before (often! :) ). I just thought you might like to know for future reference :D Thanks for some great pictures! Pat☺ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again! liner simpilot
Jan very impressive pics, especially the group of Mustangs in the sky. It sounds as though you have done a lot of paints in your day's. Kenny
jankees
Guys, thank you for your kinds words! Pat, regarding the Mirage pitot tube: I did not see anything like that on the pics I studied, but then I could be wrong too... http://a.imageshack.us/img401/4425/20100812img0727copy.jpg oh, and a few new ones, now on OZx: http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww230/jcblom60/Lockheed%20Electra/ss19975.jpg http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww230/jcblom60/Lockheed%20Electra/ss19968.jpg http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww230/jcblom60/Spitfire/ss19822.jpg Slapping paint on flightsim models you'll find all my FSX/P3D repaints here and all my MSFS repaints here. PhantomTweak
Ok, it may be an Israeli thing only, or it might be an American Marine Corps requirement. All I know is I dodged those bloody things for almost 2 years :D And that apparently, reporters don't see what's in front of their face, cause that's where it was when she walked into it, and let's face it, she was the ONLY one I ever saw do that.  ;) Pat☺ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! PhantomTweak
From what I could find, it was an American requirement only, to have the bright yellow on the pitot tube of the KFIR C2 they used in VMFAT-401 (Yuma), where I worked, and VF-43 (Fallon, Nevada). This is from a Kfir at Fallon, but virtually identical paint to the ones from Yuma, other than squadron particular markings. In fact, this is from plane 00, and I thought it WAS the skipper's plane from 401, but it was from Fallon :( 401's Patch Close-up of the pitot tube Hope this helps a little bit :D Pat☺ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out!
