Need Some help here

Hello I own a AMD Phenom II X6 Black Unlocked 1090T 3.2ghz W/T turbo 4.2ghz 9MB Cache CPU . I know FSX was designed Around intel I am fully aware of that but not every one can afford an i5 or i7. I would like to know if is there any tweaks for My Type of cpu that would give me an significant FPS increase, I usually pull less then 20. I have tried the Jesus Tweak it dose not work, I have used HawgDawg4Life's (Of MSflights.net) Supertweaker, I have used FSPS FSX Booster 2013 that didn't even work, I even use Razor Cortex. I plan to get a i5 3570k CPU PC in about 4 months time.

Maybe invest in better cooling. AMD's run hot.

I just got a new case. Should have done that years ago, the old one had bad cooling. Cpu temp dropped from 75 to 61, videocard from 85 to 65. FPS soared from 11 at Heathrow to now 22,

(Adding: that's 22 in outside view, 27 in vc, while parked. and 30 in vc as soon as I turn after pushback. All in Full screen mode.)

and 30 easy when flying over London. That's all after also increasing traffic from 40% to 70%.

If that is after running fsx for an hour at your normal settings in full screen and a high detail airport etc it's ok.

If it is when idling and just browsing the web it doesn't say much.

You have nothing else running (using up CPU cycles and/or memory)?

No browsers, real time virus stuff, etc.

Your task manager should show minimum processes (and no applications) running. When FSX isn't running, the CPU usage under the performance tab should be really really low. Memory usage should be low.

Is that cpu actually running at that speed?

If it is that cpu is not as good as I thought.

Because I have 10 progs in my system tray, including AV. Also IE open with a couple of pages and logged into flightsim.com, several windows explorer windows, and Malwarebytes was open too (not scanning).

I know it would run a slight bit better with all shut down, but no need. I would never shut down the AV for this.

Still a steady 30 fps almost all the time (locked at 30).

(I have overclocked to 4.1 btw)

I would check if the cpu is actually doing that speed. And if it is actually running 4.2 most of the time, or if it is running throttled back at 3.2 most of the time.

I would also create a fresh fsx.cfg file.

You have some personalisations, (colur of infotext or something) and trusted sections, which you may have to put back afterwards. But is also is a "Tweaked" cfg and that can cause trouble.

All changed/added to my .cfg was a few simple things:

and it should be going to 4.2 without any intervention.

3.2 ghz-42 turbo

means

runs at 3.2, but automatically goes to 4.2 when needed (for fsx for example).

But throttles back again to 3.2 if it gets too hot.

Use a program that monitors speed and gives you the min/max values when running. Like HW monitor.

start it, start fsx, run fsx full on for a while. (sit at busy airport, lots of traffic. full screen don't have to be flying.)

alt-enter.

reset hwmonitor.

run fsx for another half hour, and check the min/max values for processor speed.

While doing all that, run RealTemp as well (other program), which also gives min and max temperatures.

Then something is set up very wrong. If temps are not too high it should be running 4.2 most of the time.

The 4.2 has nothing to do with unlocked. It is the turbo frequency. Maybe read this thread from the beginning again.

I never said you should overclock.

actually, the turbo should be 3.6 I think. Not 4.2

ok i already redid the FSX.cfg and used the sliders flew around for an 1hr and 30min yesterday then i did the common fsx tweaks like Bufferpools and Highmemfix, smallrejectparticalradius, FFTF, Anffintymask, TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL and TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_BUILDINGS_PER_CEL
